Principal’s Message

Dear Students, Parents, Staff, and Community Members,

Welcome to Woodbury Elementary—an incredible place to learn, grow, and belong. As I begin my 21st year in education and my 8th year as the proud principal of our beloved school, I am filled with gratitude for the opportunity to serve the community that shaped me. I grew up right here in Sandwich and graduated from Sandwich High School in 1995, so returning to my roots to support the next generation is truly an honor.

My journey in education began after earning my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Aurora University and later a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Benedictine University. I have had the privilege of serving as a 3rd-grade and 1st-grade classroom teacher, as well as an assistant principal, before finding my home here at Woodbury.

I have a deep love for learning and am a strong believer in the power of positive school culture, meaningful relationships, learning through mistakes, and social-emotional growth. I firmly believe that school culture is the bridge to academic success—when students feel safe, connected, and valued, they are able to thrive. I take great pride in knowing each of our students as individuals and in helping create an environment where every child can walk through our doors each day confident they will be supported and loved.

Our staff plays a tremendous role in making Woodbury feel like a family. Their dedication, passion, and commitment to children make our school the warm, nurturing place it is, and I am incredibly proud of the work they do.

Outside of school, I am a proud farm wife to a fourth-generation farmer and a mother of two wonderful children. My family keeps me grounded, inspired, and connected to the community I care so deeply about.
